From the moment you step through the door, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between relaxed and lively, making it easy to catch up with friends, enjoy a casual date night, or simply treat yourself to a memorable meal. This restaurant embraces the classic Lyonnais bouchon spirit, but with its own modern twist that keeps both locals and visitors coming back again and again.

Whatever you choose, the ingredients are thoughtful, the portions generous, and the presentation inviting.

One of the things I personally love about this spot is its drink selection. Whether you’re in the mood for a glass of well‑paired wine, a cold beer, or a carefully mixed cocktail, there’s something to complement your food and elevate the whole experience. Coffee lovers aren’t forgotten either - a smooth cup of coffee here hits the spot after a long afternoon of exploring Lyon’s historic streets.

Service at Le Bouchon De L'opéra focuses on dine‑in experiences, so while there’s no delivery or takeout offered, the attention to detail and friendly staff more than make up for it. The team here genuinely cares about making your meal a great memory, and they’re always ready with a recommendation or a warm smile.

All in all, if you want to enjoy a true Lyonnais restaurant with quality food, great drinks, and an inviting vibe, Le Bouchon De L'opéra is absolutely worth adding to your list.

Super cozy place with amazing food and amazing service! Despite her lack of confidence in english, the owner treated us with the best hospitality, translating everything she could and making us feel right at home!!! The food was amazing as well, and everything really blended together for a great gastronomical experience, at a very affordable price! I could not recommend this place enough!

Top spot for Lyonnais food. Quaint restaurant with rustic decorations and great food at affordable prices. The food was simple but delicious, with the classics you would expect. The owner was super friendly and helped us choose the food and recommended some wine. It was the first spot we tried, so we didn't realised at the time, but it is more affordable than other famous Bouchons in the city

We had dinner here in Feb 2026, and initially assumed it was closed from a distance, but after looking through the window knew it was open. Its a family run restaurant with fabulous deco and an old world charm. Food was scrumptious and hearty. Service was five stars. Friendly server explained in English when we ask for details. Prices reasonable. It's a hidden gem in Lyon in my opinion.
